“Through my eyes” – A Community History of Pembroke and Monkton

Saturday 4th October 2014 saw the successful launch of this project which recounts the lives of ordinary residents of Pembroke through there own words and photographs.The book is accompanied by a DVD of the contributors telling their own stories.

This project is a unique collection of oral history and photographs ,an invaluable resource for present and future generations.

A voluntary ,community -wide project published with a grant from the History Lottery Fund.All proceeds from the sales will be invested in future community projects of the Pembroke and Monkton Local History Society.

Already there has been interest in the book from near and far – residents and former residents from all over the world wanting to remember and reconnect with a Pembroke that if not preserve in these oral memories will be lost to us for ever.
