All trades and businesses within the Pembroke area are invited to join the Chamber.
We endeavour to promote good business practice and build relationships with external parties to the benefit of each other and Pembroke.

Items for the agenda of the next meeting / get together are welcome.
Date and time to be confirmed.

Minutes - Meeting held 6pm The Old Kings Arms 30/07/2010.

1. Apologies Paul Southwick, Stephanie Smith, Tom Hazeldon, Sara Aldeman, Keith Nicholas, Adrian James, Josie Relleen, Sandra Buckland

2. Membership – all members present were asked to try and promote membership of the Chamber to other businesses.

3. Welsh Triathlon – advertising & Support. Businesses are asked to support the Triathlon event. Marathon from Tenby to Tenby via Pembroke and half marathon starting from Pembroke Castle September 26th. Support offered via Fran from Activity Wales will get free advertising on their website. Contact Fran at This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it or 01437 765777.

4. Convergence Bid update – answers from Dr Steven Jones, Development Officer PCC.

A recent application for Rural Development Plan funds for the Mill Pond was not successful.
Due to a combination of ownership, planning and access issues we were not able to include the car park off Main Street in our Convergence proposals.

Planning permission has been granted for an Aldi Store (site of Silcox garage).

5. Parking/Street-location Maps
Parking – PCC will be taking over the control of Traffic Wardens from Feb 2011. It will involve some 16 dedicated officers (instead of the current 3). Parking fines will increase to £75, non payment will result in vehicles being impounded by bailiffs. No court proceedings, appeals by panel of solicitors. Permits are available from £95 for seasonal parking on the Commons, £125 for specified bays. Either contact me for details or PCC. Traders are advised to use the permit system since parking controls in Main Street will be vigorously pursued. Street Map updates are part of the convergence funding and will be addressed at a later date.

6. Christmas Winter Festival – request for support funding of £250. Due to a lack of attendance no vote could be taken to support this activity.

7. Pembroketownguide.co.uk – List your business in Pembroke for free, please email details of your business to This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it

8. Any other business
Retention of PCSO’s. Apparently the contract for Emma, one of your local PCSO’s is due to expire in March 2011. Some members expressed their concern and wished to garner support to keep Emma on as a PCSO after this date.
A vote of thanks was offered to Mr Keith Nicholas for his leadership and guidance as previous Chairman.
